LA and end of CCM

Image
Finally made it to LA! After a long time spent at the CCM I made it to LA. Although the elevations may have changed and the humidity but the heat has not haha. I left the CCM right when I was getting settled in and comfortable so it's a little hard out here.  Sunday: Today was my last Sunday in the CCM and it went by crazy fast. When I first got there I thought it was going to take forever, pero, I did it. In the devotional today I learned some pretty unique things and metaphors. 1) Be happy with the almosts 2) This isn't a sacrifice, this is an opportunity. 3) Control the Controllables 4) Do things intentionally. 5) Be a dry sponge 6) Be Bold!!! 7) Do and celebrate the little wins each day. 8) You can't fill your spiritual bucket if it's full, empty it out unto others so you can refill it. 9) Rise again and again. 10) without a happy, positive and uplifting mindset, you will never do well and grow. Don't have negative mindsets and enjoy this time because you can ...

This week definitely went by fast and was an interesting week for sure. Although not many interesting things may have happened this week was pretty fun. Saturday: Our teacher wasn't here for Spanish class so we went and had class with them. When we were with that class we went out and had conversations with a latino district. It was challenging but I understood almost everything that he was saying. I then asked for his facebook so it was pretty awesome. Sunday: Sunday we had church and I volunteered to fill in and I blessed the sacrament in Español. I was worried at first but once I started it was pretty easy. I also started reading a book this day which my friend gave to me before I left and so far it's really good. We also for devotional this day got to watch a recording from Elder Redlund and how the Holy Ghost is your eternal companion. Monday: I played pickle ball for the first time with Elder Lamb. We played against Hermana Brown and Hermana Kofed. All of them have play...

Week 4 CCM - Aug 18th- Dear John

Image
This week has been filled with ups and downs and when the ups are up it's awesome but when the downs are down it's really hard to get through. This week was filled with so much. Saturday: This day I got hit with some pretty hard homesickness. This day not much happened. Everyone was tired because it was a day after our P-Day so it was like a Monday morning but all day.  Sunday: This Sunday went fast, the day just kept on sliding past and I had no awareness of time. There isn't much to talk about for this day. Monday: This day was better I wasn't as homesick and was talking to Élder y Hermanas por lo general, no hablaba demasiado puedo yo me alegro de haberlo hecho.  Tuesday: This night was a pretty crazy. The day went by crazy fast. That devotional that night we heard from a 12 apostle live over stream. Bednar was giving a talk at the Provo MTC about repentance and although it wasn't in person, it was still a pretty cool and spiritual experience. Wednesday: This d...

3rd Week CCM - Zach Efron

Image
This week of adventures at the MTC was probably the most random and most exciting. Monday: This day was one of the weirdest off days for everyone. Spanish wasn't going well, everyone in my house was kinda frustrated with what was happening and going on. Although this day was an off day, it also was one of the most spiritual days I have felt in my life. I led the house devotional and kinda told everyone to say one thing that was good today. After everyone went around I felt prompted to just say that we can't grow as people without hard ships. As soon as I started talking everything went out the window. I don't know why but I told everyone my high school basketball motto, I said, "Today stunk, today was pretty bad, everyone is frustrated but what we would say on my basketball team is what now. What are we going to do right now in this very moment. Sure today stunk but todays over. What are we gonna do right now to grow and learn from this experience to better ourselves....

2nd Week CCM- started a business

Image
I started a business but I'll tell you guys about it later in the email. This week has gone by way faster than last week. It seems like it was just yesterday I wrote my first email. This whole thing still doesn't seem real but I am blessed to be out here experiencing it. Monday: We went to the Mexico City temple this day and it was an amazing experience for me personally. In the temple I got to baptize 11 people during baptisms for the dead. It was a little scary at first mainly because the prayer was in Spanish but I did great. Tuesday: This day nothing too special happened. This week's new missionaries came in and it kinda just brought me back to the feeling I got when I was new, which literally was last week. Wednesday: This day I fasted for someone and it was a late night decision so by the time it got to dinner I hadn't eaten for 24 hours. I also expanded my business this day so that was cool. Thursday: Yesterday was a little hard to get through but we did it and...
